Can I get an IRS tax donation for giving money to help towards disaster relief charities?

To qualify for an IRS tax donation the charity has to be qualified, before you can  recieve deductible contributions.
You can find this out from IRS publication 526.
If the charity does qualify, you can claim deductions only if the money goes straight to the relief and not specifically for a certain individual or particular family.
